This baby's first Christmas looks like it's going to be the best, especially for her mom and dad. Happy Holidays!

What's better than having a little sister to wake up with Christmas morning? Having a big sister! It's so much fun having kids show you what Christmas feels like to them. These sisters are always a blast to work with, and I think they did a pretty good job of showing me what Christmas looks like through their eyes.

I'm not sure that everyone will agree with me but I always find the 'real' Christmas pictures more fun to shoot and to look at than the 'perfect' ones. If you're 2 year old doesn't want to sit next to his brother, or meet Santa, or wear the outfit you picked out for him...I'm all for it. Because that's the part of Christmas that you will remember about your kids. The year that your child wore rubber boots everyday, in the rain, in the snow, to the beach. The year that his favorite stuffed animal 'puffy' went everywhere with you. I'm just thankful that the people I photograph see the world the same way I do.

There's something about having a bunch of brothers and sisters that grows on you. There's a kind of comfortable chaos in knowing that you'll always have someone to giggle with, share a cookie with and scheme with. What I find so interesting is the way a family works together. The dynamics of each persons relationship with another and the group as a unit. Who's the quiet one, the responsible one, the funny one. What a wonderful gift to be given. A house full of brothers and sisters who let you try out whatever character you're feeling and a little room for yourself when you want to just be.

Christmas is so much fun. Especially when you have a personality like one little girl I met. She's one of those people who you remember, even when they grow up. Someone who's spirit is so big, they're already a star, just waiting for the rest of the world to notice.

She's already a star. It's hard to go wrong with such a cutie, but after a long day of pictures and getting her hair and make up done for the Nutcracker this little one was finished with me. Luckily I got some happy shots earlier, and the show went off without a hitch.

It's that time of year again! Nothing kicks off the start of Christmas portraits better then a visit to my nephew's house. That's why he's always the first on my list to get me in the Christmas spirit. Whether it's his excitement or the dog's, I never leave without a smile on my face. And a few doggie kisses too.
